Lunar Rabbit Holes Vol. 3: 2025’s Last Eclipse & The Unprecedented Next Few Years of Astrology - An Unavoidable Collective Rebirth
The September 21, 2025, Solar Eclipse in Virgo marked a profound collective turning point. Eclipses signal endings and beginnings, but this one carries exceptional intensity, magnified by a Grand Kite configuration involving Pluto retrograde in Aquarius, Uranus retrograde in Gemini, Saturn retrograde in Pisces, Neptune retrograde in Aries, the Sun in Libra, Mercury in Libra, and the New Moon in Virgo.
The Power of the Virgo Solar Eclipse
Solar eclipses are a time of major endings and beginnings, and only occur during New Moons. New Moons symbolize new beginnings and all they bring—a fresh start, setting intentions, and the introspection required to ensure you can continue to be aligned with the path ahead. Keeping this in mind, Solar Eclipses occur when the Moon blocks the Sun’s light from reaching the Earth. As the Sun’s light represents vitality and clarity, the temporary blocking of that light spiritually forces us to find that clarity and vitality within. To find and connect with the light within us, our souls. A time of letting go of what no longer serves you in order to embrace deeper truths and step into a more authentic, sustainable, intentional way of being.
As mentioned earlier, the September 21 2025 Solar Eclipse was in the analytical, hard-working, intelligent, helpful, mutable, Mercury-Ruled earth sign of Virgo. This energy calls for discernment, purification, and practical realignment. As the tail of such a monumental outer planet Grand Kite, these qualities are supercharged for unavoidable transformation:
Exposing systems and patterns—personal, societal, and global—that are ready to be restructured.
Forces clarity, insight, and action in areas that have been ignored or neglected.
Aligns generational energies with practical manifestation, creating a moment where the old must give way to the new.
Virgo/Pisces Eclipse Patterns and Lessons
Eclipses along the Virgo/Pisces axis are all about the balance between discernment and devotion, challenging perfectionism, rigidity, and outdated boundaries to move toward empathy, compassion, and interconnectedness. On a collective level, they ask us to be accountable and responsible for our effect on the world. Thus, eclipses along the Virgo/Pisces axis often coincide with systemic upheaval, societal transformation, and collective recalibration. Think back to 2006–2007: the U.S. was in the thick of the Iraq War, global protests were rising against militarism, and questions of truth, integrity, and accountability dominated the collective psyche. In March 2006, mass demonstrations erupted against proposed U.S. immigration laws.(1) By 2007, the global financial system began showing cracks that would soon unravel into the 2008 crash—again, all reflecting the trajectory of today’s exacerbatingly scorching dumpster fire of geopolitical tensions. These eclipses mirror the world’s demand for greater responsibility, ethical clarity, and collective accountability.
This Virgo Solar Eclipse asks us to observe, reflect, and act decisively:
In personal life, refine habits, release perfectionism, and align actions with integrity.
In the collective, witness how structures, policies, and societal patterns are being exposed or challenged, and participate in transformative action.
This Grand Kite is making it as obvious as possible that transformation is unavoidable, pushing both individuals and societies toward clarity, recalibration, and lasting change.
What Is a Grand Kite?
In tropical astrology, a Grand Kite is a rare planetary formation shaped like a kite. It occurs when multiple planets create harmonious trines (120°) connected by a single opposing planet (180°), forming a kite-like structure.
Trines represent flow and connection between planetary energies.
The opposition is the “tail” of the kite, concentrating tension and focus.
Unlike ordinary trines or oppositions, a Grand Kite magnifies this flow of energy into a singular, directed force. Thus, this configuration is powerful, catalytic, and transformational. It drives inevitable change, profound insight, and sweeping recalibration in both personal and collective spheres.
This is not a subtle nudge from the cosmos. This Grand Kite amplifies evolutionary forces so that old systems, patterns, and structures can no longer persist unchanged. It demands clarity, action, and adaptation, making transformation unavoidable.
Some Historical Context
Saturn, Neptune, Pluto, and Uranus have all been dancing together in this triangular/kite formation since mid-late August of this year, and will continue this tango over the next few years, through 2028. As outer planets, these rule the collective. Anytime any one of these planets ingresses into a new astrological sign, major collective shifts and transformations are bound to happen. Due to their distance from the sun, these planets move incredibly slow. It takes Saturn 30 years, Uranus 84 years, Neptune 164 years, and Pluto a whopping 245 years to change signs. It is unprecedented for all four of these planets to ingress into different signs all at once. Some quick research will show just how closely the geopolitical realities of humanity throughout time have followed these planets.:
This moment in history has been pondered upon by astrologers for decades. As these planets rule and influence society at large, their transits reflect major events and moments throughout history. And here we are, living through it. Experiencing the ever intensifying, unavoidable, sharp contractions of the patriarchy’s death and the people’s rebirth. The collective shadows which have been piling on top of themselves for centuries are running out of room and can no longer be buried. They are coming up with force, demanding to be healed. While the exact details will only reveal themselves with time, astrological understanding and analysis as well as history’s patterns and lessons can guide us as to how these next few years are going to go.
2025’s Last Solar Eclipse Grand Kite
Minor Triangle between:
Pluto retrograde in Aquarius – generates transformation in collective power structures, societal systems, and hidden dynamics, forcing deep reflection on what must be dismantled.
Uranus retrograde in Gemini – introduces unexpected shifts, revelations, and disruptions in communication, technology, and societal norms, calling for conscious adaptation.
Saturn retrograde in Pisces – highlights boundaries, accountability, and karmic lessons, urging structural reassessment in society and personal life.
Neptune retrograde in Aries – dissolves illusions and awakens visionary insight, pushing us to discern truth from deception.
The Kite’s Tail:
Sun and New Moon in Virgo, Mercury in Libra, all opposing Saturn Retrograde in Pisces and Neptune retrograde in Aries – challenging the formation to ensure awareness, relational perspective, mental clarity, practical focus, and discernment is applied to our actions.
This Grand Kite connects these generational outer planets with personal luminaries, creating a cosmic force that moves through both the collective and the individual. Under this configuration, transformation is not optional—it is inevitable, demanding both reflection and decisive action.
If you’re still reading this, you know just how succinctly history is not just repeating itself, but has culminated to this point. Far right extremism is terrorizing not just the so-called “United States of America”, but Europe and the world at large. Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, the Czech Republic and Hungary are all either led by or have massive support towards far-right parties.(7) Innocent lives in Palestine, Sudan, the Congo, and across the Global South are martyred every minute for shiny iPhones, disposable vapes, rechargeable batteries, and the preservation of white, patriarchal, settler-colonial order. That intentional ignorance of basic human rights is reflected in the experiences of minorities (or really anyone who isn’t a cisgendered, straight, nondisabled, conservative/neoliberal white male) all over the world, including here in AmeriKKKa. It’s becoming unignorable in every aspect of our lives.
This Solar Eclipse was the last Eclipse of 2025. The next Eclipse is the Annular Solar Eclipse on February 17 2026 at 28° Aquarius, and is the first of a season of Eclipses across the Leo/Aquarius Axis. This Aquarius Eclipse is intensified by a conjunction between the Sun and Moon as well as a minor triangle between Pluto in Aquarius, Saturn in Aries, and Uranus in Gemini. These last few months have only been the beginning of an entirely new era.
Whether we like it or not, whether we are ready or not, collective rebirth is here. There’s plenty of oxygen to stoke these fires. As the contractions of this rebirth intensify, what are you going to do? Will you cling to the ashes of individualism—scattering yourself in prideful isolation—or will you surrender to this transformation into a feather among the wings of the collective phoenix rising?
We are being asked to face these questions head on. To utilize our learned wisdoms as we recognize the unavoidability and thus the opportunity of this rebirth. To break out of harmful, destructive, exploitative, materialistic ways of relating, creating, and being. To act accordingly, with intentionality and purpose so that we can successfully plant and grow seeds of equitability, sustainability, justice, and love in this rebirth, with the understanding that livelihood of all humanity and Mother Earth herself depend on it. Now is the time to either align yourself with collective evolution or let the tides of change wash you away.
