Venus Rx 2026
Happy Retrograde Season!! There are four astrological bodies in Retrograde right now– Neptune, Saturn, and Chiron all in Aries, as well as Venus in Scorpio and Libra. Yes, all of these retrogrades are ruled by Mars [with Venus, albeit only the first half of the Rx, but still], and will demand we take action to release what no longer serves us so we can step into, embody, receive what does.
I’ve broken down Saturn Rx and Neptune Rx in a blog post of mine dedicated to them. I broke down Chiron Rx in my Virgo Season Pt. 2 blog post, and Mars in Leo in a separate post.
All that said, I’d like to breakdown this Venus Retrograde because it’s going to be extremely intensely alchemical and re-aligning. Let’s dive in.
Basics
Venus is the planet of love, beauty, creativity and harmony. It seeks pleasure, relationships, passion, art, aesthetic balance, and unions through diplomacy and sensual enjoyment. Shadows emerge as indulgent hedonism, relational codependency, superficiality, and compromising values for pleasure. We can see these qualities exemplified by Libra and Taurus, which Venus rules over.
Libra of course aligns with Venus’ harmonious values, relational balance and aesthetics. This sign aims to accomplish diplomatic love and aesthetic harmony, establishing relationships through fair pleasure and balanced unions. Shadows emerge as indecisive people-pleasing, superficial charm, and conflict avoidance leading to resentment.
Scorpio is a fixed water sign, co-ruled by Mars (hellenistic/traditional) and Pluto (modern). Mars represents action, desire, courage, assertion, drive, and aggression. Pluto represents power, intensity, regeneration, the underworld, death, rebirth, evolution and deep shadows. Scorpio seeks transformation as well as the establishment of truth, power, and emotional resilience through investigation and regeneration. Shadows emerge as jealous obsession, vengeful secrecy, and destructive power distorting resilience.
Because it sits opposite of Taurus, one of Venus’s domicile’s, Venus is in detriment in Scorpio. Scorpio’s fixed water can easily turn harmony possessive. Commonalities include intensity, but differences scatter pleasure in mysterious passion or aggression, requiring indirect methods. Commonalities encompass water’s emotional resilience and unifying flow. In Scorpio, Venus seeks to accomplish authentic, transformative connection and intense, deep beauty, establishing unions through regenerative sensuality and power. Differences arise from Scorpio’s fixed depth. Shadows manifest as controlling tendencies, vengefulness, obsession, and possessiveness.
When Venus turns retrograde, the energy of connection, aesthetics, and self-worth turns inward. It acts as a relational and financial audit: external charm slows down so you can evaluate whether your partnerships, values, and boundary structures are grounded in genuine depth or superficial convenience…[Retrograding through] fixed water and detriment…deepens [the intensity of this Retrograde] significantly. The issues shift from surface imbalance to unspoken power dynamics, trust issues, possessiveness, suppressed desires, or intense triggers and conflict. [Expect] what is secretly lurking beneath the surface of your connections [to be revealed]. Because Venus in Scorpio cannot rely on easy charm, the retrograde forces a metamorphosis. It takes the codependency or superficiality of Venus’ shadows and subjects it to Scorpio's fire of truth, burning away attachments that lack integrity.
This Venus Retrograde will help us notice where control, unspoken expectations, or fear of intimacy are quietly eroding a connection. Venus will regress back into Libra on October 25th, and will be in Retrograde through November 13th.
Venus Rx Important Transits
T-Square
This Venus Rx was kick started by a volatile, ferocious, fiery weekend of an Aries Full Moon supercharged by Mars’ ingress into Leo. this Aries Full Moon, and all the ingresses and planetary stations it brought, pushed us to start an unsparing audit of where we have been sacrificing our sovereign truth to maintain peace in all aspects of our lives, shifting away from diplomatic conflict-avoidance and people-pleasing codependency. With Venus Retrograding through Scorpio and Libra, this audit is of course course a deep relational, financial, and personal values audit which will force us to evaluate whether our connections, boundaries, and self-worth are grounded in genuine depth and authentic integrity, or held together by superficial convenience, people-pleasing, and conflict avoidance.
The Martian drive of this Venus Rx is testing us from the get go through an intense T-Square. A T-Square is formed when two opposing planets are both squaring a third planet. The third planet is where all the tension boils over, is released and reflected by reality. This T-Square is off the back of an opposition between Scorpio’s rulers, Mars in Leo and Pluto Rx in Aquarius, with both planets squaring Venus Rx in Scorpio. Because Mars and Pluto Rx rule over the first half of Venus Rx, these two planets have the upper hand over Venus Rx, stirring up even more tension surrounding relational power dynamics, possessiveness, deeply rooted shadows, obsessive perfectionism, fear of vulnerability and secrecy. Acting as a brutal call-back to Mars in Cancer’s challenges, this T-Square forces us to re-examine if our current creative expression is still reliant on those old, survivalist dependencies we vowed to dismantle. While Mars will only square Venus Rx through October 17th, Pluto– both Rx and Direct– will square Venus Rx through October 24th.
Mystic Nodal Rectangle
This brings us to the closing transit of this Venus Rx. As soon as Venus regresses into Libra on October 25th, it opposes Chiron Rx, trines the North Node and sextiles the South Node as well as Jupiter. This forms not just a Mystic Rectangle, but a Mystic Nodal Rectangle. A Mystic Nodal Rectangle is a specialized, highly supportive geometric configuration composed of two distinct oppositions boxed in by four alchemizing connectors (two trines and two sextiles), anchored directly to the Nodal Axis to function as an evolutionary engine that transmutes deep karmic friction into practical, stabilizing wisdom.
Spanning from October 25th through December 15th, this specific transit forms its structural spine through a cardinal standoff between a diplomatic, partnership-focused Venus (Rx→Direct) in Libra and the raw, unhealed wounds of hyper-independence held by Chiron Retrograde in Aries, intersected by a fixed standoff pitting a potent fire stellium, Mars and Jupiter conjoined the South Node in Leo, against the progressive, collective vision of the North Node in Aquarius.
