The Revolution Within: May 4th-10th '26 Astrological Guide
We have crossed a threshold where the friction between fading systems and a rising hunger for sovereignty has become impossible to ignore. Last week’s Full Moon served as a stark preview of a future being built in the shadows of a crumbling status quo, marked by a global reshuffling of power and the sudden erosion of traditional security. As the illusions of the old world strip away, we are forced to navigate a shifting landscape where the ground is not yet solid, but the call to reclaim our own path has never been louder.
Retrospective: Beltane’s Rebirth (April 27-May 3)
The final week of April and the dawn of May served as a visceral masterclass in the messy yet necessary change that occurs when outdated societal structures finally meet their expiration date. As we moved through the Beltane portal, the astrology signaled a deepening divide between authoritarian overreach and a collective grounding into more sustainable, equitable ways of life.
We saw this play out on Monday as the Supreme Court weighed the balance of state versus federal control in the Monsanto Roundup dispute, debating whether states have a role in warning citizens of dangers "after the EPA weighs in" (NPR, 2026). Simultaneously, the tension between surveillance and privacy reached a fever pitch as the Court scrambled to address "geofence warrants," a tool allowing police to tap tech databases to identify anyone in the "vicinity of a crime scene" (NPR, 2026). This reflected the Sun’s illumination of the "pigs at the top" attempting to consolidate control over our very movements and data.
By mid-week, the planetary pressure shifted toward the harsh realities of late-stage capitalism and the individualistic greed that marginalizes the vulnerable. The Supreme Court effectively gutted the Voting Rights Act in a 6-3 decision regarding Louisiana’s redistricting, a move experts call "one of the most important and most pernicious decisions... in the last century" (NPR, 2026). This structural gutting was mirrored in Florida, where Governor Ron DeSantis unveiled a map designed to help Republicans "win four additional seats" through what critics labeled "unconstitutional gerrymandering" (NPR, 2026). As the T-square hammered home the harms of these systems, the human cost became undeniable: the UN reported a food crisis in Lebanon affecting "all population groups," with nearly 20% of households facing "acute food insecurity" (Al Jazeera, 2026).
The shockwaves to our collective security and global finances arrived exactly as the Venus-Uranus aspects suggested. The UAE’s sudden decision to quit OPEC and OPEC+ dealt a "heavy blow" to the oil-exporting groups just as the Iran war triggered a "historic energy shock" (Al Jazeera, 2026). This volatility manifested in the private sector as Spirit Airlines, a "victim of soaring jet fuel prices," announced it was "going out of business" and ending operations immediately (Al Jazeera, 2026). These events underscored my warning that budget-straining disruptions would force a radical re-evaluation of how we maintain our livelihoods in a polycrisis. The tech world wasn't spared, as the "courtroom brawl" between Elon Musk and Sam Altman exposed the illusory "nonprofit mission" of OpenAI in favor of "tens of billions of dollars in 'ill-gotten gains'" (NPR, 2026).
As we approached the Beltane Scorpio Full Moon, the energy of extreme purging and exposing of power dynamics became literal. As we passed the 60 day mark of the war on Iran, the Trump administration argued the war had "ended" to bypass the 1973 War Powers Resolution and avoid seeking "formal approval from Congress" (Al Jazeera, 2026). Furthermore, we saw more authoritarian control through the 5th Circuit Court’s decision to restrict abortion access by "blocking the mailing of mifepristone" (NPR, 2026). Meanwhile, the masses rose in a powerful display of rebirth. May Day demonstrations saw thousands of people calling for a "boycott of work, school, and shopping" to protest what they described as a "billionaire takeover of government" (NPR, 2026). This collective "economic jihad" (Al Jazeera, 2026) was a direct response to the "unprovoked act of aggression" (Al Jazeera, 2026) abroad and the tightening of control at home.
In the wake of the Full Moon, we saw the thoughtful processing of Mercury in Taurus take hold as society began setting boundaries against the dehumanizing aspects of technology. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences issued new rules for the 2027 Oscars, explicitly stating that roles must be "demonstrably performed by humans" and screenplays must be "human-authored" to be eligible (NPR, 2026). This push for human consent and “human-authored" creativity is the exact medicine for the AI slop we've endured. It represents a refusal to allow the "technological transformation" to shift its costs onto our minds, passions, and our work—a sentiment echoed by a Chinese court that ruled the dismissal of a worker replaced by AI was "illegal" (NPR, 2026).
The week concluded with the "Cradle" aspect attempting to manage the ongoing crises through creative workarounds. With the Strait of Hormuz blocked, Syria began receiving "hundreds of Iraqi oil trucks hauling crude overland" as a "crucial workaround" to the blockade (Al Jazeera, 2026). Meanwhile, the U.S. proposed "Project Freedom," a plan for the Navy to escort stranded ships, which Trump framed as a "humanitarian position" (Al Jazeera, 2026). While the "phoenix" of a new era is certainly preparing to rise, these developments remind us that the transition remains a delicate balance of "maritime regime" disputes and "delusional posts" (Al Jazeera, 2026). We are learning to navigate a world where the old flags are being lowered, and the new ground has not yet fully formed.

Daily Energy Guide
We start out Monday, May 4th…
On the last leg of last Friday’s Full Moon cycle as the Cradle which began the day prior slowly dissipates. This is driven by the opposition between the Moon in Sagittarius and Venus in Gemini. The Moon is craving an expansion in depth and authenticity post the Full Moon in Scorpio, compared to Venus which is craving lightness, playfulness and sociability. While we feel the tension between the passionate immersion of Sagittarius and the analytical detachment of Gemini, we still have the trines and sextiles to the transformation of Pluto and the restructuring of Saturn as well as Neptune in Aries giving us opportunities to solve this tension. Something to note, however, is the challenges these opportunities stem from.
The peak of the Mars-Jupiter square hits today, with a drive for fast, bold action on one side and protective, nurturing growth on the other side. Keeping in mind all the pioneering restructuring that is ongoing with Saturn and Neptune in Aries, as well as Mars’ closeness to Chiron, the wounded healer, this square will be quite intense and will acutely hit areas of security. However, Jupiter and the Moon are now in mutual reception, as each is in each others’ home sign. Furthermore, the Moon trines Mars the same day, and additionally we have already started to feel the Sun-Jupiter sextile occurring on the 10th. This should help provide some guidance through this tension and ease the load put on Jupiter by Mars.
As the Moon makes her way through the end of Sagittarius, we are being asked to begin integrating the revelations the last Full Moon brought us. These revelations were about the work we’ve been avoiding that we can no longer avoid, the changes we must make, the role we have to play in this collective shift, and the increasing tensions pushing us into all of that.
Whatever challenges which arise on the 4th are here to further push us into those changes by reminding us of the reasons why we must take those steps. Furthermore, Monday will be centered around the solutions themselves rather than the issues arising- figuring out what the first steps are.
The Trump administration will obviously continue to dig its heels in concerning the Iran War, and Israel will continue to break ceasefires. However, with energy security and supply chain security increasingly disrupted, we will begin to see conversations and actions from the world about how to re-secure those areas from countries all over the world- no matter if they’re siding with the US, Iran, or neither.
On a personal level, these challenges will still hit areas of security, such as home security, job security, relational security, emotional security, etc. Whatever arises, know that they are not meant to keep you down- they are opportunities to move towards higher alignment.
This brings us to Tuesday, May 5th…
We start out the day with the Moon trining Chiron before ingressing into Capricorn, signaling a moment of healing after the challenges of the day prior pushing us towards authenticity and alignment. As the Moon enters Capricorn, she squares Neptune in Aries, bringing a reality check to the individualistic dreams shaped by old systems which are now crumbling. This activates that era defining six year long outer planetary Minor Triangle, which was a part of the Cradle which ended the last Full Moon cycle. With Pluto and Uranus still the wings of this Minor Triangle, the opportunities to solve this tension is still the transformation and innovation that come with the changing times we’re living through.
This Minor Triangle is activated even further by Mercury’s square with Pluto, once again bringing us challenges leading to opportunities of transformation. This happening the same day as the peak of the Mercury-North Node sextile is no mistake. While the Mercury-Pluto square is applying pressure to transform our thoughts, processing, and communication to evolve with the necessary changes we’re being guided to make, the Mercury-North Node sextile is guiding us through this by shining a light on how these mental changes lead towards long term growth.
Today could be triggering, or at the very least bring up intensely heated discussions. We’ll probably see the solution seeking which was initiated on Monday lead to deeper conversations about the reasons why these solutions are being sought in the first place. This will obviously look different depending on which side of the war on humanity you’re on. We can expect more delusions of grandeur from the pigs at the top, and more call outs from the people who see them for who and what they really are.
On a personal level, if you spent the day prior bottling things up instead of facing your shadows, they will likely boil over on Tuesday. Again, remember that these challenges are opportunities to move towards higher alignment as a more authentic you.
Which leads to Wednesday, May 6th…
The pressure initiated by the Mercury-Pluto square to evolve our thoughts, processing, and communication is the trigger which sets the tone for Pluto stationing retrograde. Pluto will be in retrograde through October 15th, however will be in Aquarius the entire time. This marks a transition from external to internal transformation, shifting the focus from outward societal change to the strategic inner work necessary to create that change. This six month period will be all about shadow work, decolonization work, reassessment of power dynamics, and reevaluation of the collective shifts we’ve seen since Pluto exited Capricorn for good in November 2024. All of this internal reviewing will be centered around Aquarian themes of humanitarianism, collectivism, innovative ingenuity, and technology.
Pluto will still, of course, be a part of that six year long outer planetary Minor Triangle. As Pluto’s transformation is directed inward, its trine toUranus in Gemini will facilitate deep psychological excavation in order to drive us towards much needed rebirthing. With both planets sextiling Neptune, we are likely to experience massive ego deaths which lead to spiritual and radical awakenings. The biggest theme of this Pluto retrograde is Gil Scott Heron’s iconic quote- “The revolution will not be televised”. This is because the revolution starts within, in your mind, in your life. It starts with you.
As we ring in Pluto Retrograde, the Moon in Capricorn squares Saturn in Aries. With Saturn ruling Capricorn, he has the upper hand here and is reminding us of the structural limits of our current ways of life which affects our stability and livelihoods. However, the Moon is also trining both Mercury and the Sun in Taurus, providing some grounding and clarity to the increasingly overwhelming energy of all this.
The heated tension which started out this week is given direction on this day, however it doesn’t fade. The heightened clarifying energy will probably lead to more attempts at gaining stability and fostering diplomacy by various countries all over the world. We are also likely to see the US and Israel being reminded of their own limits as they continue to cross the lines of justice. On a personal level, remember that the work has only just begun. Whatever changes triggered in the beginning of the week will likely be given solutions, however these solutions aren’t likely to be met swiftly.
Then on Thursday, May 7th…
We start to feel the Mars-Chiron conjunction, highlighting the individualistic survival wounds which drive our lives and yet are still buried deep within. Mars is still squaring Jupiter as well, emphasizing the tension between fast action and deliberate growth. These transits are reactivated on the 7th as the Moon opposes Jupiter and squares the Mars-Chiron conjunction. Given that Jupiter is currently ruled by the Moon, the Moon’s drive for Capricornian stability is once again intensified. The Sun’s sextile to Jupiter on the 10th will ease some of this tension through illumination of growth through all this, however not much as growth itself is not often comfortable.
We also have Pallas, the asteroid of Justice, conjoining Neptune and re-activating the outer planetary Minor Triangle. This heightens Neptune’s visions of innovative, bold, fiery collective change. Additionally, Mercury, still squaring Pluto retrograde, now squares Juno, the asteroid of relationships. Both of these transits are coming together to ask us how fair and equitable our connections are with ourselves, our livelihoods, and others.
Wednesday’s astrology showed us that the solutions we are being pushed towards aren’t going to be met swiftly and require a lot of work. Thursday’s astrology is here to show us why that work cannot, and should not, be put off any longer. As I said last week, the marginalized understand just how deeply eugenicism permeates into every aspect of our lives here in the Global West. The 7th will be another reminder of this for everyone struggling through the ongoing polycrisis.
We can expect more developments in the disruptions to areas of security, as well as intensified discourse surrounding those situations. Thus, we can once again expect the pigs at the top to continue digging their heels in for their own agenda. With the asteroid activity, we can also expect developments on the shifting alliances and global world order. On a personal level, work towards detachment with that which does not serve your growth and stability. Not everyone, nor everything, can come with you to where you are going.
This leads us to Friday, May 8th…
With the Moon ingressing into Aquarius as she joins the outer planetary Minor Triangle by conjoining Pluto retrograde, trining Uranus, and sextiling Saturn as well as Neptune. The illusions of control attempted by the Moon in Capricorn are forced into being dropped for the necessary Aquarian innovation the tensions of this week have been trying to push us towards. As the Moon joins this era defining transit, we are likely to hit an intense peak as she highlights the past traumas and buried feelings surrounding power dynamics which have been triggered over the last few days.
Given the airy detachment of Aquarius, we will likely feel the desire to intellectualize and further bury our emotions instead of allowing them the space they need to be released. However, keeping in mind the trine to Uranus and sextile to Neptune, as well as the nature of Minor Triangles themselves, these emotions are not likely to stay buried even if you’re good at hiding them.
This transit is likely to heighten and highlight the cold ruthlessness of the injustices of the pigs at the top. We can expect the fascist authoritarianism of today to continue to rise, as well as to be exposed and called out. We can also expect a follow up to the developments in alliances and shifting world order which was initiated on the day prior. On a personal level this transit will emphasize the shadow work this whole week has been pushing for. Whatever arises on the 9th, know that it is coming up to be alchemized for the greater good.
Then on Saturday, May 9th…
The Moon in Aquarius squares both the Sun and Mercury in Taurus. While both are fixed signs, Aquarius is craving innovative freedom, while Taurus is craving stability and comfort. As the rising late stage capitalistic contradictions continue to show us, the stability and comfort we crave is increasingly rare and must be responded to with innovative ways of fighting for freedom. With the Sun symbolizing core identity, Mercury symbolizing our thoughts as well as communications, and the Moon representing our unconscious (our somatic bodies and intuition), this battle between who we were and who we feel called to become is what this entire week has been about.
As the Moon trines Venus, this square up is given some assistance. The trine to Venus in Gemini will illuminate the curiosity and adaptability that will carry us through this shift from individualism into collectivism.
We can absolutely expect more developments concerning the shifting global alliances that have arisen over the last few days, with stronger and clearer stances being made from all sides. We can also expect more organization to counterbalance the injustices of the pigs at the top from both the masses and countries which have been uncoupling with the US and Israel. On a personal level, as the square between the Moon in Aquarius and the Sun as well as Mercury in Taurus brings up the decolonization shadow work we’ve been pushed into initiating this week, lean into the curiosity and adaptability of Venus in Gemini. Don’t lose the forest for the trees- try to be open to the work that needs to be done knowing it’s for the better, rather than getting caught up in what was.
We end the week on Sunday, May 10th…
With the Moon sextiling the Mars-Chiron conjunction before ingressing into the compassionate sign of Pisces. This sextile to the Mars-Chiron conjunction in Aries will highlight the unhealthy behaviors and patterns which are the reason why we must make the internal shifts we are being pushed towards. The necessity of this shadow work is emphasized by the Moon’s immediate squaring to Uranus right after she ingresses into Pisces, signaling major disruptions to our emotional well being as we shift out of the detached air of Aquarius and into the subversive waters of Pisces.
Towards the end of the day however, we have the peak of the Sun-Jupiter sextile as well as a conjunction between the Moon and the North Node.
The sextile between the Sun in Taurus and Jupiter in Cancer brings growth, luck, and abundance in a stable, nurturing, manageable way. With Taurus representing finances and materialistic matters, as well as Cancer symbolizing home and comfort, the security disruptions of the last week (as well as the last two months) is given some grounding support.
Furthermore, the conjunction between the Moon and the North Node in Pisces signals a powerful alignment with the life goals and purposes which has been shifting since the last Full Moon.
Sunday is where the alchemization of the entire week’s shadow work begins to kick in. Thus, while the ongoing polycrisis won’t go away, the solutions we’ve been forging this whole week will start to take form. We can expect the world to start cultivating new ways of stabilizing the security disruptions, as well as beneficial alliances to make themselves known. On a personal level, know that even if the alchemization doesn’t manifest on Sunday, it will very soon, with increasing likelihood as we reach the New Moon at the end of next week.
Historical Context
The cosmic clock is ticking, and as we approach May 5th, we find ourselves standing at a familiar, albeit harrowing, crossroads. The stars are retracing a signature of profound tension: Mercury at 5 degrees Taurus squaring Pluto retrograde at 5 degrees Aquarius. This is a recurring frequency that has historically signaled the cracking of old foundations to make way for a collective rebirth. When Mercury—our cosmic messenger—takes a deliberate, stubborn stand in Taurus, it demands that we look at the physical reality of our lives with unblinking eyes. It’s asking us to till the soil of what we consider to be known truths as Pluto in Aquarius begins its slow, tectonic shift to dismantle the power structures that no longer serve the soul of humanity.
If we peer back through the veil of time, we see this transit acting as a catalyst for the "death" half of the death-and-rebirth cycle. In May 1780, this energy manifested as the devastating American defeat at Siege of Charleston and the unnecessary murders of American Soldiers at the Waxhaws Massacre. Both were brutal exercises of power which brought on major reassessment.
The clashes continue when we look at May 1289 and 1044. In the Levant, the Mamluk capture and consolidation of Tripoli represented the final dissolution of the Crusader era—a systematic dismantling of outdated religious and military "fortifications." Meanwhile, in 1044, the Roman papacy was in a state of absolute populist revolt against Benedict IX, who is cited as one of the most controversial popes to date. The internal reevaluation of a retrograde Pluto was carried out completely through the spiritual will of the people, demanding that the sacred office of the Papacy be stripped of its shadows and re-evaluated through the lens of the community.
In the mid-May window of 64 C.E., the atmosphere in Rome was heavy with "the calm before the fire." Nero was distracted by his own creative dramas (very much a shadow expression of that 5th Leo degree), while the social tensions of the Roman elite and the marginalized were reaching a boiling point. This period serves as a haunting reminder that Pluto retrograde often starts with a simmer. It is the internal pressure cooker where the decolonization of the mind begins. Before Rome burned, the idea of Rome had already begun to fail in the hearts of its people. The internal revolution was already underway because the people had mentally checked out of Nero’s delusion.
Similarly, in 181 B.C.E., the death of Ptolemy V shifted the Egyptian crown into the hands of Cleopatra I, a rare moment of feminine regency born out of the literal death of the previous patriarch. This wasn’t just a political shift; it was the physical manifestations of Pluto’s demand for a new blueprint. The thoughtful introspection of Mercury in Taurus was forced to process a reality where the old ways of winning or ruling were abruptly terminated, making space for a radical, innovative transition.
Now, as we face our own modern polycrisis—ecological collapse, systemic inequality, and the erosion of truth—this square returns to ask us: How are you avoiding the truths about the crumbling empire which are staring us all in the face? Mercury in Taurus gives us the determination to survive, which must be paired with the Aquarian vision of a liberated future. The 5th degree of Leo adds a layer of passionate fixed fire that refuses to be quiet. This isn't a time for surface level observation; it is a time for the bold, courageous shadow work of looking at how we participate in the very systems working towards our demise for the greed of a select few. We are being asked to use the methodical, reliable energy of Taurus to build the infrastructure for an Aquarian revolution that is humanitarian at its core.
The revolution we are waiting for will not be televised because it is currently happening in the spaces of your own psyche. It is the moment you decide to decolonize your desires and re-evaluate your personal power dynamics. As Pluto moves backward, it invites us to look at the shadows of what has been considered progress. We are dismantling the fortifications of the ego so that the collective shift can actually take root in the physical world. This week, the Mercury-Pluto square ringing in Pluto retrograde is a deliberate, dramatic, and deeply necessary call to sovereign power.
Spiritual Task
Your spiritual task this week is to stop decorating a sinking ship and start building the lifeboats. As the triggers of this week meet the heavy, transformative weight of Pluto’s retrograde station, we are being asked to move past the awareness stage and into the work of our personal and collective rebirth. Your job isn’t to fix their broken systems or beg for a seat at a table that’s already rotting; it’s to reclaim the sovereign territory of your own mind and nervous system. With Pluto stationing retrograde, the revolution is officially moving indoors. You are being called to audit your own mental landscape—identify where the "pigs at the top" have colonized your perspective, knowledge, desires, fears, and sense of what is possible.
This internal decolonization work requires you to look at where you are still seeking security in places that are demonstrably unstable. The fallout has made it clear: the "pigs at the top" are doubling down on surveillance, gerrymandering, and energy monopolies because they know their control is an illusion. With the Mars-Jupiter square hammering away at our sense of security, your task is to redefine what "safety" actually looks like. As global security folds under the weight of war, we are reminded that true stability is found in collectivism, not isolation. Spiritual growth right now looks like mutual aid; it looks like knowing your neighbors and building innovative workarounds for a way of life that was never designed to nourish you. Alchemize your anxiety into action by investing your energy into the people and systems that actually sustain life, rather than the ones that merely extract it.
Finally, remember that "the revolution will not be televised" because it is currently happening within. The internal pressure you’re feeling isn't a sign of failure—it’s the simmer before the pot boils. Use this week to process the revelations of the Scorpio Full Moon and begin the strategic work of your own internal reconstruction. We are navigating a world where the old ways are dying, and your spirit is the ground that remains. Stand firm, stay human, and keep building.
Anchors
Somatic Practice: The Sovereign Perimeter
Since the revolution is moving indoors, your first line of defense is your own nervous system. When the world feels like a sinking ship, your body is the only lifeboat you carry at all times. Use this practice to clear the triggering energy of the week and reclaim your internal power.
Find your Ground: Stand or sit with feet hip-width apart. Visualize your legs as the only "stable infrastructure" left standing. Press your toes into the floor, feel the earth beneath you supporting you and holding you.
The Sweep: Starting at your crown, use both hands to "brush" down your arms, chest, and legs. As you do, visualize you are brushing off the distress of the polycrisis. You are clearing the deck of your own ship.
Boundary Mapping: Bring your hands to your solar plexus. Take a deep belly breath, in with the nose and out through the mouth. Feel the cool air as it enters your nostrils and the warm air as you exhale. Feel the connection between the air within you and outside of you. Feel expansion of your diaphragm as well as the expansion of energy within your solar plexus. This is the innate power, the innate sovereignty, you always carry.
The Anchor: Place one hand on your heart and one on your sacral chakra. Whisper, "I am the author of this space." Breathe in for four seconds, hold for four seconds, and release for four seconds. Do this repeatedly until the tension in your chest feels lighter and more manageable.
