Complete Guide: Leo Season 2026
In typical Leo fashion, this Leo Season roars loudly, and demands we roar with the same tenacity.
There are multiple extremely potent activations and cosmic check points throughout the next few weeks that could bring immense challenges and great opportunities.
In this blog post, I have broken down the basics of the astrological sign of Leo as well as meanings, purposes, and predictions for this Leo Season’s major transits- including the end of Mercury Rx, Sun-Chiron square, an extremely powerful Grand Cradle, the 7/29 Aquarius Full Moon, the Sun-Saturn Rx trine, and the 8/12 Leo Total Eclipse. Back to Basics: Leo, Explained
Leo of course is ruled by the Sun, And thus the Sun is in its home for the next month! Leo is a fixed sign, meaning it craves and creates stability, acting as an anchor. Given Leo’s fiery nature, this sustaining and preserving is achieved through passion, creativity, vitality, strong identity, confidence, and leadership. All of this is not only why Leo is physically linked to the heart and upper spine, but also why Leo is represented by the Lion.
As a millenial, I cannot help but think of animated lions when I think of the animal. While I could very easily reflect upon the character traits of the Lions from Disney’s Lion King, I personally feel there’s another Lion from a different animated movie series which is a better reflection of the shadow and light aspects of Leo- the character growth of Alex the Lion in the hit animated Madagascar movies.
At the beginning of the series, he’s an attention-seeking self-proclaimed “King of New York”, prioritizing his ego-driven external validation through public applause above all else, including his community (his ‘pack’). Due to the fragileness of his ego and prideful mask of self-importance, he of course swiftly faces an identity crisis which carries through the entire movie series. These of course reflect the shadows of the astrological sign of Leo.
His first lesson is in the harms of this egocentric hyper-individualism, learning the value and importance of communal survival and relational bonds over personal glory. Continuing with the ego lessons, Alex’s learns that his self-worth isn’t tied to this dying “celebrity” persona but to himself as a being. He then goes on to learn how to re-channel that creativity not for his ego, but for the joy of it as well as the joy and sustenance of his pack. Both “Alexs” exhibited confidence, charisma, creativity, leadership, playfulness, and a dramatic flair. However, there is a whole spectrum of ways to express those personal traits, as seen through Alex’s growth in these movies.
While the Sun is in its domicile, this Leo Season’s sunshine comes after some rain. This is due to the powerful, transformative transits that start as soon as the Sun entered its domicile.
Leo Season Major Transits
The first transit I’d like to discuss is an intense square between the Sun and Chiron.
Chiron of course is in the fixed Venusian ruled sign of Taurus, pushing us to heal deep core wounds surrounding material security, physical self-worth, financial stability, and resistance to change. Personally, this transit will expose where your desire for visibility, confidence, and ego expression stems from and/or collides with underlying insecurities about self-worth, financial status, resource shortages, or physical body vulnerabilities. On top of this intense square, the Sun conjoins Jupiter as soon as it entered Leo,
And thus joined the three month long Grand Cradle which Jupiter is a part of (started 6/28, ends 8/15). As I shared in my “July ‘26 Cancer New Moon” Blog Post :

So when the 7/14 New Moon entered Leo and joined this aspect pattern, the lunation asked us “are [you] ready to boldly stand in [your] power knowing [your] worth and what [you] have to offer, and how [you] feel called to share our light? Now that the Sun is in Leo and has joined this aspect pattern, the cosmos are demanding tangible application of those lunar illuminations, the authentic sharing of your inner light. We’ve spent the last month in an internal review, reflecting upon the emotional, subconscious roots of our expressions, communications, and life organization. Over the next couple weeks, throughout Mercury’s Post-Retrograde Shadow phase, we will be pushed to integrate the lessons of this Mercury Rx. This plays right into that Solar Activation of the Jupiter-Pluto Grand Cradle. We’ve spent weeks learning how to talk the talk- now we must walk the walk. The Sun will be conjunct Jupiter, and thus a part of the Jupiter-Pluto Grand Cradle, until August 6th. Throughout that period of time, there’s some more important astrological activity we need to discuss.
As the Moon moves through Sagittarius from July 24th-25th, she conjoins Lilith and opposes Mars, providing an emotional shock which propels us into two more transits.
