The Light of the Fire in the Ashy Haze: February 16-21 2026 Astrology Guide
Us Global Westerners know we are in a collective rebirth- that is quite obvious and has been stated by countless people all over. What is not often as spoken about are the nitty gritty aspects of that process- the death part, which is the precursor to that rebirth.
As a trauma survivor, I understand how there is only so long one can avoid that metaphorical death before it sweeps you up for transformative regeneration. With all the ongoing, increasingly interconnected national and geopolitical tensions we Americans are facing, the contradictions of late stage capitalism are causing struggles in all aspects of our lives. It is obvious, to me, that this turning point is where we are now- the collective realization that things must change, that we are responsible for making that happen, and all that means.
As we exhaustedly nestle into the painful yet necessary fiery purification of rebirth, the ashes of what we once were swirl all around us as they form the feathers of the phoenix attempting to be reborn. Engulfed in a haze of orange-red fire and feathers as well as black ashes, it is impossible to escape the psychological and spiritual warfare onslaught by the crumbling empire we all partake in.
Retrospective: February 10-15
If last week was the "metaphorical death" sweeping us up, this week was the collective realization that we can no longer wait for permission to rise. The conclusion of Operation Metro Surge left us sitting in the ashes of state violence, with the confirmed deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti serving as a brutal somatic awakening. Yet, just as the Aquarius Sun sextile Chiron promised, we saw the "wounding of the wound" catalyze immediate healing through action. The "No Kings" movement and the student walkouts on Feb 10 were not just protests; they were the Venus in Pisces solidarity manifesting as a "harmonious surge of moral fury." When 75 people were arrested at the Richfield Target sit-in, demanding the retailer cut ties with ICE, it was a direct answer to the Sagittarius Moon’s philosophical rebellion: we realized that the "healing of hyper-independence" requires risking our own safety for the collective body.
Simultaneously, the "psychological warfare" of the crumbling empire intensified as Mercury’s pre-retrograde shadow in Pisces began its audit of our delusions. The release of the Epstein files didn’t just expose individuals; it shattered national myths, from the diplomatic crisis in Norway to French prosecutors launching special probes. The rot is so deep that we saw it manifest in the visceral imagery of Iran’s state rallies on Feb 11, where the burning of an iconic Baal demon served as a symbolic exorcism. This wasn't just global theater; it was the intentional torching of the false god that MAGA and Zionism have constructed around figures like Trump and Bibi. This Sagittarius Moon sextile Mars energy turned our collective shadow into a ritualized rejection of idolatry, linking the "decadence" of these power structures to the ancient archetype of the false idol. It is becoming impossible to escape the onslaught of truth; the "black ashes" of the empire are swirling globally, forcing us to confront the reality that the "moral superiority" of the West was always an illusion waiting to be dissolved.
Amidst this fiery purification, the contradictions of late-stage capitalism pushed us toward that "necessary fiery rebirth" in our economic lives. The San Francisco Teachers Strike and the Kaiser Permanente walkouts were the "feathers of the phoenix" attempting to fly, driven by a Sagittarius Moon sextile Pluto that demanded we prioritize well-being over profit. While Trump threatened 100% tariffs on BRICS nations—a Capricorn Moon opposite Retrograde Jupiter attempt to rigidify old boundaries—the collective is already moving toward the Saturn in Aries "great rebuilding." As we pivoted toward the Aquarius Eclipse, the strategy shifted from asking for better kings to "mass non-cooperation." We are exhausted, nestled in the haze, but the realization is landing: the best way to fight the system is to make it obsolete.
Overall Energy of the Week
Between this week’s Solar Eclipse, Pisces season starting, and the Saturn-Neptune conjunction reaching its peak, this is heavy week which comes with a lot of growth and thus, growing pains. This Eclipse is felt from Feb 9-Feb 24, when we will start feeling the Virgo Lunar Eclipse. This is why these couple months are called ‘Eclipse Season’. As the moon progresses through the zodiacal wheel and the signs, we will see how this energy plays out.

Today is all about the lesson this Eclipse is trying to teach you. Pluto once again asks, what needs to be let go of and transformed so that you can show up and connect with your community the way you feel called to? This need for this moment of reflection is further emphasized throughout the day. The water trine between Mercury and Jupiter, with both planets in their own retrograde cycles, signals deep introspection. Furthermore, the moon chiron sextile heightens the importance of checking our hyper-independent survival wounds. Try to hold patience with yourself and others today, and don’t lose the forest for the trees- remember, the best way to fight the system is to make it obsolete. step out of hyper-individuality and into collective care.
Shadow Work Prompt: What specific survival wound makes you feel like you have to do everything yourself? When you think about letting someone else help you, what is the exact physical sensation that arises in your body?
Mantra: I release the burden of the lone survivor. I am safe to be seen in my need, and I am worthy of collective care.

Happy Eclipse Day, and Happy Chinese New Year! This is the year of the fire horse, emphasizing the passionate forward movement that comes after the shedding of our skin over the last year of the wood snake. These themes are absolutely reflected by today’s Aquarius Solar Eclipse, intensified by Mama Moon’s Square with the explosive planet Uranus and immediate ingress into the sensitive sign of Pisces. Mercury’s conjunction with the collective North Node shows a moment of heightened introspection, which may be challenging however is a powerful opportunity for personal growth. Take a moment today to reflect on and hold gratitude for how you’ve grown over the last year to two years, as well as how we have collectively grown through that time. We’re not ‘cooked’, we’re just rebirthing- and you are one of countless who are needed and will play a role in the midwifing of that rebirth.
Shadow Work Prompt: What skin did you shed that you are still trying to pick up and put back on because it feels familiar? Why are you afraid of or uncomfortable with the "new skin" that is currently forming?
Mantra: I trust the heat of my own transformation.

Yesterday was all about reflecting on our personal and collective growth over the last couple years- Today is all about how that guides our future. Post yesterday’s Eclipse, the Moon meets up with the point of destiny (North Node), the planet of love (Venus), the planet of expansion (Jupiter), and the planet of intellect/the mind (Mercury)! All these planets are aligning to ask you today- what role are you meant to play in this collective rebirth, and how can you start/continue fulfilling the responsibilities of this role?
Shadow Work Prompt: If money, fear, and systemic barriers didn't exist, how would you intuitively nourish your community? What is stopping you from taking the first step toward that role?
Mantra: My intuition is my compass. I step into my role as a midwife for collective rebirth.
Thursday February 19th: Pisces Moon Sextile Taurus Uranus at 9:22AMcst | Moon Ingresses into Aries at 1:39PMcst | Aries Moon Conjunct Aries Saturn at 2:48PMcst | Aries Moon Conjunct Aries Neptune at 2:55PMcst | Aries Moon Sextile Aquarius Pluto at 9:08PMcst
The last few days have been mentally and emotionally heavy, with the beginning of this week essentially acting as an audit of our growth in all ways. As the Moon enters the fiery, bold, empowering sign of Aries and interacts with all the outer/collective/generational planets, today is when the reflections, realizations, and breakthroughs of the beginning of this week are put into action- quite forcefully I’ll add. Think of it this way: this moment isn’t your mom gently asking you about your grades and giving you a cookie- she’s throwing you in the deep end, knowing you’re new to swimming, and saying “You should know how to do this. You need to know how to do this. I may have been a bit lackadaisical about this, but that changes starting now.” Today may feel tense, triggering, and overwhelming for some. Take small breaks when you can and remember to breathe today.
Shadow Work Prompt: Where have you been "waiting for the right time" to act on your boundaries or your community building? What is the comfort you are clinging to that is actually keeping you from learning how to swim in these shifting collective waters?
Mantra: I am capable of navigating the deep end. I move from reactionary anger into strategic, empowered action.
Friday February 20th: Aries Saturn Conjoins Aries Neptune at 10:53AMcst | Aries Moon Square Cancer Retrograde Jupiter at 4:49PMcst
Saturn and Neptune conjoin every 36 years, and historically bring about major collective transformation, endings and beginnings. These planets have been dancing around each other since last February, increasing the tension of the necessary death to bring about collective rebirth. We will be feeling this conjunction through this July, however from here on out- the rebirth is collectively no longer a question of if, it’s a matter of when. This rebirth, of course, will bring about major changes to our personal and home lives- a thought/situation which may get provoked by Mama Moon Squaring Jupiter, either through conversation or sudden losses. Remember- the goal isn’t to individually withstand the current societal systemic collapse- it’s to expand your own support system so that you are basically unaffected by said collective collapse. You are not alone in the fight for basic human rights and survival. Check in with your loved ones today, and allow yourself to be supported by them if you find today to be trying.
Shadow Work Prompt: Look at your personal "home and heart" structures. Which of your insecurities are actually just echoes of the exploitative, unsustainable system we’re all in? How does that insecurity serve the psychological warfare of tha system instead of your well being?
Mantra: I allow the walls of my isolation to dissolve. As the old structures crumble, I find my safety in the sanctuary we build together.
Saturday February 21st: Aries Moon Sextile Aquarius Mars at 5:11AMcst | Aries Moon Conjoins Aries Chiron at 6:44AMcst | Moon Ingresses into Taurus at 5:30PMcst | Taurus Moon Sextile Pisces Sun at 11:40PM
The provocation to personal and home matters of yesterday begins to be alchemized. The raw urgency of the Moon-Jupiter square gets channeled into logical, future-shifting action for the better. The healing of hyper-individuality through communal mutual aid. This ties back to the whole goal of Tuesday’s Eclipse- to step out of hyper-individuality and into collective care because the best way to fight the system is to make it obsolete. As this revelation lands in our bodies, a light of radical hope grounds us into our next long term objective of building communal support networks. This is a great day for expanding your circle and organizing with your community. Put yourself out there today, with an open mind and heart!
Shadow Work Prompt: What would happen if you stopped trying to "withstand" the collapse and started trying to "outgrow" it through mutual aid? What would that entail and look like? How would that feel?
Mantra: I trade my isolation for radical hope. I ground my power in the strength of the many.
Sunday February 22: Taurus Moon Square Aquarius Pluto at 12:56AMcst | Taurus Moon Sextile Pisces North Node at 8:49AMcst | Aquarius Mars Sextile Aries Chiron at 10:13AMcst | Pisces Venus Trines Cancer Retrograde Jupiter at 2PMcst | Taurus Moon Sextiles Cancer Retrograde Jupiter 7:55PMcst | Taurus Moon Sextile Pisces Venus at 8:31PMcst
The integration of Tuesday’s Eclipse lesson is solidified. This is the moment where we truly shift from ‘I’m scared we’re on our own’ into ‘look at the mutual aid network I can be a part of- look at how we can take our power back.’ With the Moon squaring Pluto, the personal responsibilities of this shift will start to get more real. If you’ve been keeping up with your shadow work surrounding all of this, this square won’t really affect you. If you’ve been avoiding said shadow work and been dealing with the ramifications of that, this square will hit you hard. No matter which one of those people you are, today is still an amazing day for connecting with your community and chosen family. Keep reaching out, keep organizing- your support system is being empowered in real time.
Shadow Work Prompt: Where is the "responsibility" of this new life feeling like a heavy weight rather than a gift? How can you shift your perspective from "I have to do this" to "I get to build this with my chosen family"?
Mantra: My shadow is the fertilizer for my growth. I am empowered, supported, and ready to lead with my community.
The Historical Context
While Saturn builds and enforces boundaries, Neptune dissolves them. So when these two planets come together, collective upheaval and major shifts follow. The Saturn Neptune conjunction, both in Aries and in other signs, has coincided with a lot of Russian History. the 1917 Revolution (leo), the falling of the Berlin wall in 1989 (capricorn), the death of Stalin + end of korean war in 52/53 (libra), the battle of kulilovo 1380, the founding of Saint Petersburg in 1703. On top of that, it also occurred during the war of Spanish succession, Queen Annes war, the peasants revolt of 1381, the consolidation of the Ming Dynasty, the great schism of 1054, the rise of the seljuk empire around 1054, and the end of antiquity + slavic migration in 555.
As we approach this exact conjunction on February 20, 2026, we aren't just watching history repeat; we are watching it reach a fever pitch at the 0° Aries Point—the absolute beginning of the zodiac. While the 1989 conjunction in Capricorn brought the literal falling of the Berlin Wall—a hard, earthy boundary dissolving—this Aries transit brings the fire of the pioneer. Aries doesn't just want the wall to come down; it wants to set the very idea of private control ablaze to make room for collective care.
The historical parallels to the Peasants’ Revolt of 1381 and the Great Schism of 1054 tell us that we are at a terminus of a civilizational age. In Aries, the "warrior-king" archetype (Saturn) is being dissolved by the visionary waters of Neptune to birth something decentralized and raw. The "black ashes" of the crumbling empire aren't just byproducts of decay; they are the necessary fertilizer for a global restructuring that mirrors the Slavic migrations and the end of antiquity. We are shifting from Neptune in Pisces, the dream vs delusion, to Neptune in Aries, whether action matches with identity.
This is where the Spiritual Warriors of this shift are revealed. History shows that when these two planets meet, the "divine right" of foundational society systems are tested. Whether it’s the 1917 Revolution, or the movements building today, the result is a radical redistribution of power. The strategy is no longer just survival; it is the active, Aries-led authorship of a new world where our compassion isn't just a feeling, but our new foundation.
The Spiritual Task
The spiritual task of this week is a direct confrontation with the survival mechanism that has kept many of us "safe" but isolated: Hyper-independence. As we stand in the haze of the empire’s black ashes, the crumbling structures around us are making one thing clear: the "Lone Wolf" archetype is a casualty of this collapse. Your task this week isn't to work harder at surviving the fire alone; it is to master the art of Mass Non-Cooperation through Radical Interdependence.
As the Moon moves through the zodiacal wheel this week, it provides the somatic blueprint for this pivot. Starting on the 17th (Aquarius Eclipse Day), the Moon’s ingress into Pisces asks you to soften. This is about feeling into the expansion of care—shifting your internal dialogue from "How do I protect myself?" to "Who is my community, and how do we protect each other?" This isn't just a vibe; it is a spiritual requirement. Use these days to dissolve the armor around your heart and seek out the support you’ve been too "strong" to ask for.
By the 19th, as the Moon charges into Aries, the energy shifts from feeling to founding. This is the moment to put your realizations into bold, empowering action. With the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 0° Aries, the universe is handing you the pioneer’s torch. Your spiritual duty here is to stop asking for permission from a "king" that no longer exists. Channel your righteous anger into building the decentralized support networks—mutual aid, local organizing, community resource sharing—that make the old system’s "iron fist" irrelevant. If the empire provides the cage, Aries energy provides the bolt cutters.
Finally, as we move into the weekend of the 21st, the Moon in Taurus demands that we anchor this rebellion. We aren't just looking for temporary relief; we are seeking the permanent security of a new foundation. The task is to ground the bold actions of the week into something tangible and sustainable.
Weekly Anchors
Shadow Work Prompt 1: The Armor of Competence
The Inquiry: In what ways do I use perfectionism, "being reliable" or "having it all together" as a shield to prevent people from seeing my actual needs?
The Mantra: My value is not measured by my utility. I am worthy of care even when I have nothing to offer but my presence."
Shadow Work Prompt 2: The Ghost of the "King"
The Inquiry: Look at where you are still seeking "permission" or "authority" to validate your actions or your anger. Who is the "King" in your head (a parent, an institution, a past version of yourself) that you are still trying to please, and how is that loyalty preventing you from joining the decentralized rebellion of your community?
The Mantra: I relinquish the need for external permission. I am the sovereign author of my own contribution to the New World.
Shadow Work Prompt 3: The Fear of the Void (The Ash)
The Inquiry: What part of the current "systemic collapse" are you trying to "save" out of fear (your job, your routine, your identity within late-stage capitalism)? What would happen if you allowed that specific part of your life to die completely to make room for the "Aries pioneer" energy to build something else?
The Mantra: I do not fear the fire; I release what is already gone to make space for what is trying to be born.
Somatic Practice of the Week: The Phoenix Breath & Pulse
This practice is about moving the intensity of the "psychological warfare" out of your nervous system and into the ground (or your support structure).
The Warming (The Aries Spark)
• Action: Rub your palms together vigorously for 10–20 seconds until you feel a distinct heat building between them.
• The Focus: As you do this, visualize this heat as your Aries pioneer spirit—the part of you that knows how to build, protect, and begin again.
• Disability Note: If hand movement is limited, visualize a warm, orange-red light pulsing at the center of your chest or forehead, growing warmer with every breath.
The Softening (The Pisces Dissolve)
• Action: Place your warm hands (or focus your internal heat) on a part of your body that feels "armored" or tight—often the jaw, the back of the neck, or the solar plexus.
• The Focus: Breathe into that heat. On the exhale, make a low, soft "Sssss" sound (like steam escaping).
• The Intent: Imagine the "black ashes" of the week’s trauma dissolving into the heat, turning from solid soot into fluid energy.
The Rhythmic Release (The Collective Pulse)
• Action: If you have mobility in your feet or hands, begin a very slow, rhythmic tapping—left, right, left, right. If you are in a bed or chair, you can gently rock your head or torso from side to side.
• The Focus: This is the Pulse of the Weaver. You are no longer a lone wolf; you are tapping into the heartbeat of the collective support network.
• The Intent: As you tap or rock, say internally: "I am supported by the ground beneath me; I am connected to the hearts beside me."
The Integration (The Grounding)
• Action: End by placing one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Take three deep breaths, imagining the breath traveling all the way down to whatever is supporting your weight (your chair, bed, or the floor).
• The Goal: Feel the "weight" of your current struggles falling off your shoulders and being absorbed by the earth, which knows exactly how to compost the old to grow the new.
Sending you love and lunar blessings,
Astraluna
